RWP-CB: If you've just purchased (or are thinking of purchasing) a DSLR, then this is the workshop for you. The lecture is about general photographic concepts, so it doesn't matter what brand of camera you have (or whether it's film or digital.) Learn, techno-babble free, why expensive gear doesn't matter most of the time. Learn about exposure and how/why your camera "meters" for it. We'll spend time one-on-one discussing the three exposure variables (shutter-speed/aperture/ISO), how they relate to one another and what each does to your final image. We'll even talk (almost math-free) about those "weirdo f numbers" and where they come from. We'll discuss your camera's shooting modes, focus modes, flash modes and when each is useful to you. We'll even talk a little about lenses and when/why to use which ones (PRO TIP: If you only have a "kit lens" that came with your camera, you NEED one other (inexpensive) lens in your bag! Let me show you why.)
